A Technical Note on Near Field Communication

Near Field Communication is a set of short-range wireless technologies and standards for digital devices to establish radio communication with each other by touching them together or bringing them into close proximity. The communication is also possible between an NFC enabled device and an unpowered NFC chip, called a "tag". The communication between the devices happens owing to the devices being in proximity to each other and the proximity distance is typically not more than a few centimetres.
